Gain Essential Marketing Insights at SMX Munich 2019: Germany's Biggest SEO & SEM Event
Held between 2-3 April 2019, SMX is one of Europe's largest SEO and SEM events and a key part of the marketing calendar. It allows the biggest names in Search Engine Marketing to introduce their services and show off their skills, giving attendees unique insights into current trends and techniques to boost their marketing strategies.
SMX is far from a dry industry event. Mixing workshops, talks, exhibition spaces and hospitality, it's a fun experience. We recommend visiting if you have the chance.
What does SMX stand for, and what is it all about?
SMX stands for "Search Marketing Expo". That might sound fairly mundane, but this is far from a conventional marketing event. While SMX brings together companies in Europe's search marketing sector, the focus isn't on selling as much as learning and knowledge sharing.
Munich's International Congress Center becomes a forum for discussing the key SEO trends in 2019, allowing visitors to preview up-and-coming technologies and to meet leading lights in the marketing business. Talks and workshops spread the word about new developments, and it's also a great chance to socialise with industry peers.
The schedule is divided into a variety of events. There are talks in the exhibition hall (available to all attendees) alongside all-day workshops with renowned international experts. These come with an additional price tag but offer a hands-on learning experience that could be game-changing.
A look at the programme and speakers for SMX 2019
2019's edition of SMX will be an invaluable opportunity for marketers. This year's event is divided into a series of "tracks", themed around key issues like PPC, data analytics, SEO, content creation, and the use of AI. Within these tracks, events will cover the needs of advanced marketers and beginners alike.
The idea of SMX is to present attendees with tactics and ideas that they can apply to their everyday work -- so don't expect waffle or abstract speeches. Instead, expect practical guidance from global SEO leaders.
Visitors will be able to chat with Florian Eckert (the digital manager of McDonalds Germany), Nick Wildson (pioneer of voice search marketing for Vodafone), and Microsoft's Purna Virji, who will provide insights into voice assistant marketing.
SparkToro CEO and Moz co-founder Rand Fishkin will also be appearing. A regular at the event, Fishkin is well-known for his Whiteboard Friday masterclasses, and he'll be on hand to chat about SEO and startup culture with attendees.
What's more, greatcontent will be there too, promoting our unique multilingual SEO and E-Commerce content creation services and helping visitors fine-tune their strategies.
When the day is done, and you've networked enough, SMX After Dark rounds things off with music and socialising in Heart Restaurant on Lenbachplatz -- always a fun event to attend.
Where to buy SMX Munich 2019 tickets
OK, so now let's talk a bit about practicalities. How can you get to SMX Munich, and where can you find tickets?
Firstly, the main event is held at the International Congress Center Munich (Messegelände, 81823 Munich). Workshops are also held off-site at Nemetschek Haus (Konrad-Zuse-Platz 1, 81829 Munich). So make sure you know the location of the events you've booked, but don't worry too much -- the venues are only around five to ten minutes walk apart.
Ticket prices vary. You can purchase one- or two-day passes which give you access to the exhibition and talks. If you want to attend in-depth workshops, you'll need to pay a little more, although single workshop tickets are also available if one event catches your eye.
greatcontent's followers can attend SMX for less with our exclusive discount. When you book, make sure to use the promo code GREATCONTENTSMX and claim 15% off listed ticket prices.
